The Blimp Archive

The Blimp are a Swedish outfit that make some really compelling music that could perhaps be described as art-rock or modern alt-rock. They’ve been putting out great singles for a couple of years, showing a great grasp of arrangements and a reservoir of great ideas.

The latest single “Small as I get” continues this run and contains all the same signature elements we’ve come to expect. What’s different on this track? Well, it’s the first time we’ve heard a song from The Blimp that starts off sounding like a KoRn tune from an alternate universe where nu-metal was more melodic and less sludgy.

That’s probably not this band’s favorite comparison, but it’s honestly a fascinating effect, and the song rapidly layers on a depth and richness that will make you forget about it - until it starts back from the beginning. We suspect you’ll let it play again when that happens.      AGL
